Everyday is a fashion show and the world is your runway.
Palazzo’s are slowly becoming “the little black dresses” we all own. They are becoming a wardrobe staple that cannot be interchanged for another piece because of its uniqueness.
They have become the black and nude veils in our closet, the salt in our rice and the purpose in our writing. Not that deep but you get.
Slowly, palazzo pants are becoming a huge necessity in every woman’s wardrobe and we are loving it.
Some three years ago, I wouldn’t have seen myself in a palazzo pant for various reasons some of which are:
- I wasn’t brought up to wear any form of trousers for religious reasons. I’m pretty sure I’ve even condemned it in some cases but look at God. Never say never fam.
Btw: My mom and I still argue over it and I hope to get stronger on my religion and stop arguing.
- Skirts are deemed to be modest and of course, they are specially made for women.
For good reasons, I love maxi skirts specifically because it shows no shape and it’s absolutely modest but somehow, wide legged pants have managed to steal my heart.
However, here are some reasons why I’m currently into wide legged pants and I don’t believe it’s a trend.
They are so comfortable :
Just as the name “wide legged pant” implies, they look oversized yet fitting at the same time. I could live in a palazzo all day. Plus it could be mistaken for a skirt sometimes.
Great for moving about:
Well, since comfort is attached, it’s only right that wide legged pants are great for moving around. And because I can’t remove my society from how I dress, I’d say it’s perfect for the Lagos hustle since a lot of jumping bike and buses are the way to go for me most times.
So, if you’re someone that moves around from time to time and don’t own a car, a palazzo might be your life saver.
I also love that I don’t have to worry about them getting rumpled when I hitch a bike unlike when I’m in a skirt.
Someone present palazzo’s an award for easy styling puhleassse… You could easily dress a wide legged pant up or down, from corporate to casual and for lazy aasss like me, it could pass for a pajama too. 😁😁
Another reason I’m into wide legged pants is how they look good in almost every fabric and print. You could mix match a print on print or however you want it and still look a killer.
In achieving multiple looks for a single pant, I styled it with some wardrobe staples that would never go out of fashion.
• A black body top; we all know this one is an essential because black is bae.
• Black and nude veil; burn down your wardrobe if you don’t have these two as a hijabi. Pfffft
• A waterfall kimono; now this could be swapped with either a long sleeved kimono, denim jacket, an after dress abayah, a trench coat or any form of after dress that fits your style.
However, I won’t trade this waterfall kimono for any reason. The fabric, stiching, style and colour choice all combined is just perfect for me. I wouldn’t mind copping it in some other colors though.
Now let’s get right into pictures;
I wish I could explain to you the excitement I felt when house of anaum sent me their waterfall kimono but this would just be a bore.
I loved mostly the fabric of this kimono and also how neatly sewn it is. You could decide to leave it open like I did here or knot it with a belt as shown below.
Lets get on to look 2
Somehow, this look is still my favorite because I love how everything blends together. It’s okay for you not to like this look because it’s bit shouty I think.
I’m so loving the trend going on with my knitted top and hand woven bag.
I’d ike for you to take a second and imagine that huge colorful trash behind me to be a huge colorful flower. This is how to see the beauty in everything *giggles
Look 3 with a twist
This coat *not jacket or blazer* is super oversized, outdated and i had to use a belt to hold it firm. *fun fact*
For the fun
Look 4 (My least favorite look)
Whoops! Well, if you haven’t been following my post, then you wouldn’t now I styled this abayah here..
