Sheer dress and modesty; how does that add up?

I know you’re probably thinking oh she’s crazy, how does one wear a sheer dress and still be modest? Trust me, styling a sheer clothing is one of the greatest fashion hack for a Muslim woman that makes you look more stylish.
Growing up, there was basically nothing I couldn’t style. My sisters would look at a clothing and think oh this is transparent or this has slits and wouldn’t even consider wearing them but I on the other hand do a happy dance because it’s always an opening to try something new and create something beautiful.

How do I do it?
One word, layer. Permit me to call myself the queen of layering because that’s what my style is based off. I don’t ever want to see a piece of beautiful clothing and say no although there are exceptions to dresses that can’t be made modest. You don’t want to look like a clown.
What you need; Basic wardrobe staples
- Bodycon dress: black, white or nude. If you’d like to explore with colors, get this in as much colors as you’d like and they’ll definitely come in handy.
- Basic top in colors black, white and nude. These colors seamlessly match with every single thing and that’s why they’re your safest bet. You can also get other bold colors if you decide to break your looks into two as they look more stylish.

Tights and satin skirts: This greatly depends on the outfit you’re a styling and what you find comfortable.
Example; if you’re styling a sheer dress, you want to wear a bodycon dress or a two piece underneath like I did below.

Bodycon: A bodycon gives your outfit a seamless look and people might not be able to tell that your dress is sheer.
Note: This also depends on how much the color of your bodycon matches your sheer dress.
If you’ve decided to go with a much daring option, this would be a plain sheer dress styled with a bodycon in a bold color. This means you create the effect of a color pop.

Two piece: A two piece is a more stylish and daring way to style your sheer dress. I believe satin skirts are best for this looks because they give a shiny effect to your look. Also pair up with a darker toned top to break the outfit into two parts.
Although I’m not a fan of trousers, they look absolutely cute when styled with a sheer dress.
Tie your looks together with a blazer or denim jacket like I’ve done below.
It’s time to be more adventurous with your clothing sis.
