I got this purple dress from ASOS months ago and it’s easily one of my favorite pieces to style for a number of reasons.
- The fabric is lightweight and luxurious. Silk, satin fabrics are known for their subtle elegance and rich aunty vibes which is what I love about the fabric.
- The cut on the dress is so satisfying and you’ll understand this more when you see the other way I styled this dress as you read on. The cut on the waist is at the right place that gives your waist the perfect definition you need.
- Sleeves: I already talked about this here just so you know how obsessed I am. Exaggerated sleeves have my whole heart and they’re currently in but this is a style I’d wear even if it wasn’t trending because it’s my style.
The first way I styled this purple number is as a dress, paired with a pair of black boots, a black scarf and a black bag. I went for all black accessories because I wanted the dress to still be star of the show.
You can also switch it up by changing up your accessories. I also wore it with a mint hijab since the dress had some green and mint hue to get a matchy vibe. Styled with same old versatile black boots.
The second way I styled this dress is as a skirt. I love dresses that are easy to switch into skirts. This fits so perfectly that I wanted it made into a skirt. Fits like a glove. I styled it with a white basic long sleeve shirt, a denim jacket over it and a white sneakers.
This look was so comfortable and breezy, I didn’t want to take it off. I also paired it with a beaded bag that didn’t make it into the picture.
Other ways you can style your dress as a skirt.
*Wear a jumper over your dress or while styled as a skirt and define the waist area with a belt or leave it baggy for a chic vibe. Spruce this up with a pair of knee high boots and it’s a look.
